Every week I learn something new about AI. I already know the term “Responsible AI” but “Explainable AI” is new to me. Thanks!

These ethical considerations are very significant although there seems to be very little 'consideration' happening while governing bodies are proposing regulations in the AI space. It appears we have been down this road a few times before, such as Google's search algorithms being questioned for authenticity.

I have been innocently optimistic that government regulators & big business were paying close attention & would preserve the sanctity of users being uniquely human & by definition individually different. I remember the intensely public discussions & government inquiries that involved the big wigs & top end of towners previously seem to have been overlooked in an audacious style. Here, I'm referring to the detrimental impact of the coerced, rigged & flawed Facebook algorithm during previous US Presidency elections. I'm sure there were recommendations for the future, weren't there?

The Google & Facebook algorithms that were designed to coerce & manipulate users are perfect examples as history has shown of some of the predicaments we find humanity facing now. This time around though the stakes are arguably higher & there's no room to rewind or patch mistakes. However, I am not sure if consideration is being made with regards to the AI algorithms. I hope I am very wrong, I pray I am.

The truth is, history states... & prevention is always better than a cure. It's time we take a user-first approach seriously & definitely put humanitarian risks before the valuation of user data, just saying.
